On January 6th, 2007, Boston University hosted its first annual FIRST Robotics Competition Kickoff Event. This event, attended by over 150 people and representing 19 Boston-area robotics teams, allowed regional teams to view the live FRC webcast, broadcast from Manchester, New Hampshire. This webcast notes the official start of the FRC build season and is the first mention of the FRC game. From this date until February 20th, teams must stategize, brainstorm, and create robots using a provided Kit Of Parts from FIRST. Boston University graciously allowed teams to use their facilities for brainstorming, collaborating, and distributing the Kits of Parts.
