Boston University FIRST Scholarship
Boston University
has established a half-tuition scholarship for students who have
participated in the FIRST Robotics program. This merit-based scholarship
is available to a senior in high school who has participated at
least one full season in high school with a FIRST robotics team
and who has applied and been admitted to the Boston University
College of Engineering. The Boston University FIRST Scholarship
recognizes students with outstanding academic ability.
The annually
renewable scholarship can be applied for a maximum of eight semesters,
provided the student completes at least 12 credits each semester,
maintains a 3.20 minimum annual grade point average, and remains
in good disciplinary standing. BU FIRST Scholars will also receive
funding for up to 10 hours per week to participate in a research
program with a College of Engineering faculty member for one semester
in the first two years of study. Additionally, BU FIRST Scholars
who maintain an overall grade point average of 3.40 are guaranteed
admission to a Boston University College of Engineering Master
of Science program. Award recipients are expected to contribute
to mentoring Boston University's FIRST team.
